General Shesterov partially compensated the damage to the Patriot Park in the embezzlement case

The former deputy head of the Main Directorate of Innovative Development of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Major General Vladimir Shesterov, partially compensated the damage to the ministry and the Patriot Park in the framework of the embezzlement case. This was announced on July 17 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.

It is specified that he paid 400 thousand rubles. In addition, during the interrogation, the defendant provided unknown details about the crime.

Earlier in the day, he pleaded guilty to embezzlement. The Major General also signed a pre-trial cooperation agreement with the investigation.

Shesterov was detained in August 2024. According to the investigation, he was involved in the embezzlement of budget funds that were allocated to ensure the operation and functioning of the Patriot Park and the convention and exhibition center. On July 8, the Major General's criminal case was sent to court.
