Russia has transferred another 1,000 bodies of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to Ukraine.

Russia has transferred another 1,000 bodies of the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to Ukraine as part of the agreements reached at the talks between the parties in Istanbul. This was announced on July 17 by Vladimir Medinsky, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation.

"In continuation of the Istanbul agreements, another 1,000 bodies of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers were handed over to Ukraine today," he wrote on the Telegram channel.

Medinsky stressed that Russia had received 19 bodies of dead soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Earlier, on June 16, Russia also handed over to the Ukrainian side 6060 bodies of dead fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Kiev, in turn, then handed over 78 bodies of the dead Russian military.

On June 8, the representative of the Russian negotiating group, Lieutenant General Alexander Zorin, reported that Russia was ready to fulfill all agreements on the exchange of prisoners of war and the transfer of the bodies of dead soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Zorin emphasized that the transfer of the bodies of the dead soldiers is of a humanitarian nature.
