Major General Shesterov pleaded guilty in the case of embezzlement in Patriot Park

The former deputy head of the Main Directorate of Innovative Development of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Major General Vladimir Shesterov, pleaded guilty in the case of embezzlement of budget funds in the Patriot Park. This was reported on July 17 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.

The military is also a defendant in two civil lawsuits. It is specified that the defendant entered into a pre-trial agreement.

Shesterov is charged under Part 4 of Article 159 ("Fraud committed by an organized group or on an especially large scale") and Part 2 of Article 292 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Official forgery that entailed a significant violation of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens or organizations").

Shesterov was detained in August 2024. According to the investigation, he was involved in the embezzlement of budget funds that were allocated to ensure the operation and functioning of the Patriot Park and the convention and exhibition center. On July 8, the Major General's criminal case was sent to court.
