Lada Iskra cars began to arrive at dealers
The new Lada Iskra model has begun to arrive at dealers, and the first cars have already appeared in St. Petersburg car dealerships. The first batch included sedans and cross-station wagons, the Autostat news agency reported on July 17.
According to Alexander Shaprinsky, commercial director of the Pragmatika dealership network, according to the current customer interest, Iskra will become the most popular in the Cross body. Such cars are versatile for both urban and suburban driving, they are characterized by high ground clearance and a large interior volume.
As previously reported, AvtoVAZ will announce the complete set and prices for its new Lada Iskra model on July 18. The cars will appear at dealers on the day of the start of sales — July 20. At the first stage, the new product will be presented at car dealerships in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Tolyatti.
AvtoVAZ launched production of Lada Iskra at the Tolyatti plant on April 19. The novelty will occupy a market niche between the Granta and Vesta models. Iskra will be offered with a 1.6-liter engine with a capacity of 90 hp (143 Nm) or 106 hp (148 Nm). In the first case, the motor is combined with a five-speed manual. A more powerful engine is aggregated by a six-speed manual or automatic.
On June 11, it was reported that Lada Iskra received the highest score based on the results of crash tests conducted according to the standards of the ARCAP methodology developed by experts of the Autoreview publication. This is a more stringent standard than that provided for by certification tests in accordance with the requirements of Russian legislation.
