The expert spoke about the amount of payments for sick leave for child care

Russians can receive about 20 thousand rubles for sick leave for child care. This was announced on July 17 by Igor Balynin, an associate professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

According to him, an insured person who is temporarily disabled due to caring for a sick child is eligible for benefits. He clarified that if a child is under eight years old, then regardless of work experience, the employee is entitled to receive payments in the amount of 100%.

"If the child is eight years old or older during outpatient treatment, the first 10 days are paid taking into account insurance experience (eight years and above — 100%; from five to eight years — 80%, less than five years — 60%), and from the 11th day - 50% of average earnings," he said an expert in an interview with the newspaper.Ru».

Also, if the child has reached the age of eight, then the amounts of payments will be identical during inpatient treatment. According to him, the maximum number of paid days depends on two factors: the age of the child and the life situation.

In addition, the expert noted that if the insured person is ill, the employer pays for the first three days of the illness, and if a person takes care of a sick child, payments for all days are made by the Social Fund of the Russian Federation.

Balynin also recalled that temporary disability benefits are subject to income tax.

On July 4, Balynin announced that Russians can expect to receive sick leave payments if they become ill within 30 days of being fired and have not yet had time to get a new job.
