Turkish Parliament condemns Israeli attacks on Syrian territory
On July 16, the Turkish parliament condemned the Israeli attacks on Syrian territory and expressed solidarity with the Syrian people, expressing its support.
"We condemn in the strongest terms the heinous Israeli attacks on Syria, especially on its capital, Damascus," reads a statement posted on the parliament's website.
In addition, the parliament pointed out that by attacking Syria, Israel is openly violating the territorial integrity of the state and unleashing new aggression to distract attention from the "genocide against the Palestinian people."
"We declare that we will continue to make every effort to ensure peace, stability, security and tranquility in our region, as we have done so far," the statement said.
On the same day, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) attacked the entrance to the Syrian General Staff in Damascus. Later, Al Jazeera reported that three people were killed and 34 others injured as a result of Israeli strikes on Damascus.
