For the first time in history, an international team of astronomers from various universities, including the USA, the Netherlands and France, has recorded the early stage of planet formation around a young star and was able to take an image of this phenomenon. The discovery was announced on July 16 by the journal Nature.

"For the first time, astronomers have captured a solar system beyond our own, which is in the earliest stages of formation," the material says.

It is specified that the star, named HOPS-315, is located in the constellation Orion. Studies have shown that there is a protoplanetary disk around it – an accumulation of gas and dust. In the future, planets will form from it, the publication noted.

The publication added that the data for the image was obtained using the ALMA observatory and the James Webb telescope. The lead author of the study, Professor Melissa McClure, in turn, said that the resulting image is the first of its kind.

"Such images are rare because jets of gas ejected by a newborn star (known as outflow) often obscure the hot disk, but HOPS-315 was fully visible," the publication noted.

On July 12, the press service of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IKI RAS) reported an increase in solar flare activity. It is reported that the current increase in activity does not pose any direct threats to Earth at the moment.
