Summer in the European part of the Russian Federation will become longer and with long periods of heat and cold

The weather in the European part of Russia is changing due to global warming. Due to climatic changes in this area, blocking cyclones are increasingly determining the weather situation. Climatologist Alexander Chernokulsky, Deputy director of the Obukhov Institute of Atmospheric Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, told Izvestia about this in an interview.

Experts predict that the rains will last until the end of the week.

"The weather will depend on which part of the blocking anticyclone we are in. If it's in the west, it's very hot, if we're talking about summer. And in the east, it's damp and cool. In the last few years, this has been happening so that it is very hot in Western Europe in the summer, where it is below 45 degrees. But in Eastern Europe, including the European territory of Russia, it is still cooler," he said.

At the same time, the duration of the climatic summer will increase due to the autumn and spring days, the expert added.
