Trump says Iran's "desperate desire" to resume talks with the United States
Iran "desperately" wants to resume negotiations with the United States on its nuclear program. This was announced on Wednesday, July 16, by the American leader Donald Trump at a meeting with Crown Prince of Bahrain Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
"They want to negotiate. They desperately want to negotiate. We're not in a hurry because we said we could make a deal. They had to make a deal. And then we bombed them in different places," Trump said.
He also noted that the United States is in no hurry to resume negotiations, but if the Iranian side wants to hold the next round of settlement, the United States will not refuse.
The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, stressed on June 26 that Trump, in his statements about Washington's attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities, deliberately exaggerated the extent of the damage. According to him, in reality, the damage turned out to be insignificant.
