The court arrested TV presenter Lazareva in absentia for non-compliance with the law on foreign agents.

The Presnensky court in Moscow arrested in absentia TV presenter Tatiana Lazareva (recognized in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent, included in the list of terrorists and extremists of Rosfinmonitoring) in the case of non-compliance with the duties of a foreign agent. This was reported in court on July 16.

"The court granted in absentia the request of the preliminary investigation authorities to detain the accused T. Lazareva under Part 2 of Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Evading duties provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation on foreign agents")," the TASS instance reports.

Earlier, in July 2022, the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation added the TV presenter to the register of individuals who are foreign agents. The Russian Interior Ministry put her on the wanted list on June 13, and on June 19 she was added to the list of terrorists and extremists.

On July 10, 2024, the court arrested Lazareva in absentia in the case of justifying terrorism. She was charged under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public calls to carry out terrorist activities, public justification of terrorism or propaganda of terrorism using mass media, including the Internet").
