The staff of the Shopping Mall detained the Metropolitan of the canonical UOC
Employees of the TCC (territorial recruitment center, TCC, an analogue of the military enlistment office in Ukraine) issued a summons to Metropolitan Bogolep of Alexandria and Svetlovodsk (Valery Goncharenko) of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC). The relevant information was published on July 16 on the official website of the Union of Orthodox Journalists (UOJ).
UOJ sources note that the metropolitan has not yet been taken to the unit: he has been issued a summons and an administrative protocol has been drawn up, and he is currently at large.
"Metropolitan Bogolep is 47 years old. Like other representatives of the episcopate and clergy, he has no armor from mobilization, and according to the current law, he can be sent to the front on general grounds," the article says.
On June 19, in the Dnipropetrovsk region, employees of the shopping mall abducted a priest of the canonical UOC Rostislav Kalinovsky. It is specified that the priest was subsequently sent to the military medical commission. Later, on July 7, it became known that Kalinouski refused to take the oath in a military unit. The cleric's relatives reported that psychological pressure was being exerted on him, threatening him with up to 10 years in prison.
