Rubio expressed US concern over Israeli strikes on Syria
The United States is concerned about the escalation of the conflict between Israel and Syria. This was announced on July 16 by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio at the signing of a memorandum with the Foreign Minister of Bahrain.
"Now we are very concerned about this, we want it to stop," he told a journalist in response to a question about the conflict in the Middle East.
Rubio stressed that Washington is in contact with representatives of Israel and Syria and intends to stop the conflict.
According to the Reuters news agency, the administration of US President Donald Trump appealed to Israel to stop attacks on Syria.
Earlier in the day, Al Jazeera TV channel reported on new Israeli strikes on Damascus. It was clarified that the headquarters of the Syrian Armed Forces (AF) was attacked. According to the TV channel, at least three or four strikes were recorded, and smoke was seen above the building of the Syrian Ministry of Defense. According to the SANA news agency, at least 13 people were injured in the Israeli attack.
