A resident of Komi was arrested for participating in the preparation of sabotage at the fuel and energy complex facility

A resident of the Komi Republic has been arrested on charges of participating in a terrorist organization and preparing sabotage at a fuel and energy complex (fuel and energy complex) facility. This was announced on July 16 by the press service of the regional directorate of the FSB of the Russian Federation.

"A criminal case has been opened <...> on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Participation in the activities of an organization that is recognized as terrorist in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation"), Part 2 of Article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Preparation to commit sabotage as part of an organized group at a fuel and energy complex facility")", — TASS cites the message of the department.

It was established that the 49-year-old resident of Pechora was an outsider of the Kiev regime and joined the terrorist organization "Freedom of Russia Legion" banned in the Russian Federation in order to conduct sabotage and intelligence activities. Subsequently, he planned to leave for Ukraine to participate in the fighting on the side of the Kiev regime.

The department noted that he provided his data to the supervisor of the terrorist organization and completed a verification task, in which he prepared photographs and video materials of the strategic infrastructure facility of the fuel and energy complex in Pechora. The man was detained and is currently in custody.

On July 9, the FSB's Public Relations Center reported that teenagers who set fire to railway equipment in the Orenburg Region and Udmurtia had been charged with a terrorist act. It was clarified that Russians born in 1974, 2008, 2010 and 2011 committed arson attacks on transport infrastructure and cellular communications equipment for a monetary reward.
