New Delhi is interested in alternative logistics chains through Russia within the framework of trade and economic relations. This was announced on July 16 by Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov.
"At this stage, the need for alternative routes for trade is particularly clear, and in this sense, we have very good opportunities with India, and there is a lot of work to activate routes between our countries through the so—called Vladivostok—Chennai sea corridor with access to the Northern Sea Route," Alipov said on air. the TV channel "Russia 24".
According to him, India expresses interest in such prospects, negotiations are underway between the countries in order for Moscow and New Delhi to have alternative routes for trade and economic cooperation.
On May 24, Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, a member of the People's Chamber of the Indian Parliament, said that negotiations on creating a legislative framework for deeper cooperation between Russia and India were already underway. According to him, this process should yield positive results in the near future.
