Israeli Defense Minister threatens Damascus with "painful blows"
Israel will continue its strikes on Syria to destroy the forces attacking the Druze. This was announced on Wednesday, July 16, by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz.
"The warnings to Damascus are over — now painful blows will follow," the head of the department wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
He added that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will continue active operations in the province of Al-Suwayd in southwestern Syria, "to destroy the forces that attacked the Druze until their complete withdrawal."
On the same day, the Ynet portal reported that Israeli Druze were massively trying to break through the border with Syria to help their co-religionists. It was clarified that members of the community are invited to prepare "by all necessary means to cross the border to help their brothers."
