The probability of reaching a nuclear agreement between the United States, France, Germany and the United Kingdom with Iran by the end of August remains low due to fundamental differences between the parties. This was stated by political analyst Dmitry Brije in an interview with Izvestia on July 16.

"The West is imposing deadlines, risking completely undermining the last remnants of trust, which could lead to a long—term strategic break with Iran and increased instability in the region," the orientalist stressed.

According to the expert, the hard deadline is not an attempt to reach a compromise with Tehran, but rather political pressure amid the failure of diplomatic efforts. He explained that the Iranian side insists on receiving guarantees that the West is not ready to provide. In response to the ultimatum demands, Tehran is likely to adhere to a strategy of perseverance.

"Tehran has historically been slow to perceive the language of threats and deadlines, and under pressure it can accelerate its own nuclear program by increasing the level of uranium enrichment and limiting the access of international inspectors. Thus, the risk of the conflict reaching a new round is extremely high," the political scientist said.

In addition, Brydje noted that the restoration of UN Security Council sanctions will have a serious impact on the Iranian economy, especially in the oil and gas sector. However, Iran, the expert added, has developed a sustainable adaptation strategy in recent years, including expanding trade with China and Russia.

The portal reported to Axios on July 15 that the United States, France, Germany and the United Kingdom have set a deadline for the end of August to reach a nuclear agreement with Iran. If no agreement is reached by that date, these European countries plan to resume all UN Security Council sanctions that were lifted under the 2015 agreement with Iran.
