Republican U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (listed as a terrorist and extremist by Rosfinmonitoring) is seeking a vote on sanctions against Russia before the U.S. Congress leaves for the holidays. This was announced on July 16 by the Semafor portal.

On July 14, the leader of the United States, Donald Trump, threatened to impose duties against Russia within 50 days if progress was not made on a settlement in Ukraine. According to the portal, such actions may hinder the advancement of the Senate bill on sanctions against Russia.

Senator Lindsey Graham, a Republican from South Carolina, said <...> that he plans to talk with Trump, and that a decision on holding a meeting earlier than August will be made "in the coming days," the publication says.

At the same time, according to the senator, the overwhelming majority of votes of both parties will be given for the bill. This will give Trump more political flexibility, Graham added.

On July 15, Trump confirmed his readiness to impose duties and sanctions against Russia in 50 days if no agreement is reached on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. According to the current American leader, if he had been in power, and not his predecessor Joe Biden, then the crisis in Ukraine would not have occurred.
