It is impossible to extract hard-to-recover oil reserves, including in Russia, without using innovations. This was announced on July 16 by Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev, answering a question from Izvestia.

"Now, without artificial intelligence and digital twins, it is impossible to solve the development of just hard-to-recover reserves. All our oil producing companies have switched to this mechanism of operation," he stressed.

In addition, the Minister pointed out the importance of working with friendly countries in the energy sector and creating an energy equity program.

"We have a task to solve in friendly countries — to ensure both technically and economically efficient access to electric energy for all residents, this is very important now," added Tsivilev.

On June 19, the head of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation stated that affordable energy is the basis for any development, including it provides an opportunity to radically change the entire industry. According to him, if Russia does not build a future energy sector, the world will continue to be divided into rich and poor states. Then the difference between the standard of living in these countries will grow at an accelerated pace.
