The Marapi volcano has erupted in Indonesia.
The eruption of the Marapi volcano was recorded on the island of Sumatra in Indonesia. This was reported on July 16 by CNN Indonesia.
"The Marapi Volcano Observatory (PGA), located in the city of Bukittinggi, West Sumatra, reported the eruption of the Marapi volcano, located in the districts of Tanah Datar and Agam," the publication says.
It is noted that the eruption was accompanied by the release of volcanic ash to a height of up to 1.2 km above the summit.
"The eruption was recorded on a seismogram with a maximum amplitude of 30.5 mm and a duration of about 47 seconds," added Teguh Purnomo, an employee of the observatory.
On July 7, the Levotobi volcano erupted in Indonesia. According to the official report of the meteorological observation post, the volcano spewed a thick gray-black column of ash to a height of about 18 km above the summit.
