Trapeze Artist Festival to be held in Moscow for the first time

On July 24, the international Trapeze Artist Festival will be held at VDNH for the first time. The event, supported by the Moscow government as part of the "Summer in Moscow" project, will bring together athletes from Russia, Spain, Italy, Brazil and Israel and will become a platform for sharing experiences and demonstrating the achievements of modern world gymnasts.

The theme of the festival is "Sport and Art", the synthesis of which will be revealed by the installation performances created at the junction of performance, theatrical and circus art. As part of the event, it is planned to set a world record – the most massive number of aerialists – with inclusion in the Russian Book of records. More than 50 people will take part in it. The previous record was set in the UK back in 2015 with the participation of 30 athletes.

The guests of the event will also enjoy spectacular performances in the most popular genres: the virtuoso skill of balancing on a stretched rope at high altitude, the fascinating number "Pendulum" with a counterweight, creating the illusion of weightlessness of the artist, "Wheel of Death", where the somersault is performed without insurance at a height of 12 meters. Among the participants are the best Russian bands, winners of many international awards. For example, The Flying Heroes, an aerialist trapeze and Death Wheel team performing at Moscow's Nikulin Circus on Tsvetnoy Boulevard, a trampoline acrobat group that includes current and former athletes of the Russian and Belarusian national trampoline jumping teams, and the Flying People Air Theater, which unites the best aerialists in Moscow. and presenting installations that reveal the beauty and possibilities of the human body.

Foreign artists will perform with the best world-class performances. Italy will surprise with the performance of gymnast Marta Orlandelli in a hot air balloon, the ZenitAerial Ballet team from Spain will bring an aerial ballet to the music of Vivaldi's The Four Seasons (the production will take place at an altitude of more than 30 meters), and Brazil will present a unique number by famous gymnast Gabriela Bretan on an author's balloon in the shape of a boat.

A special guest of the festival will be Itamar Elzair, an expert in the field of aerial trapeze, a fan of Russian culture. He will bring a special issue to Moscow, which will be attended by pupils of his children's school from Israel.

The athletes' performances will be accompanied by a bright concert on the main stage. Popular Russian performers Marie Kraimbereri, the Pizza group, Niletto and Vanya Dmitrienko will perform for the guests of the festival. In addition, visitors will be able to take part in workshops on aerial canvases and slackline, as well as fly on a trapeze. The festival will start at 12:00 and last at 21:00. Admission is free for all visitors.
