A record batch of cultivated cannabis for the region was seized in Kuzbass.

More than 1.8 thousand bushes of cultivated cannabis, the largest such batch in Kuzbass, were found in the Kemerovo region, and over 32 kg of packaged marijuana were seized. This was announced on July 16 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.

"The largest batch of cultivated cannabis in the region was seized by my colleagues from the Drug Control Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Kemerovo region — Kuzbass," she wrote on her Telegram channel.

It is clarified that two people were also detained on suspicion of drug trafficking — a resident of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and a citizen of an unnamed Central Asian republic.

According to preliminary information, the Russian purchased the building of a former boarding school, which was located in the village of Leningradsky in the Kemerovo region, where he created greenhouses. He involved a foreigner who was illegally in Russia in the maintenance of narcotic plants, who equipped this room with ventilation, heating and irrigation systems.

It is noted that the malefactors, against whom criminal cases were initiated under Article 30 ("Preparation for a crime and attempted crime") and paragraph 1 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal acquisition, storage, transportation, preparation, processing without the purpose of selling narcotic drugs"), were detained.

In addition, Volk said that all the confiscated plants were sent for examination, after which the issue of initiating a criminal case in accordance with Article 231 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal cultivation of plants containing narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances or their precursors") will be decided.
