Igor Morzharetto, a partner at the Autostat analytical agency, and Leonid Olshansky, a lawyer and vice president of the Motorists of Russia movement, advised on Tuesday, July 15, not to travel by car in a thunderstorm and heavy rain, and if bad weather catches you on the road, you should stop and wait.

"In no case should you try to storm a puddle, especially without knowing the depth. The engine may fill up, and a water hammer will happen, and then major repairs or even replacement of the engine," Morgiaretto told Radio 1.

Olshansky added that in adverse weather conditions, it is necessary to move slowly along the road, and it is also necessary to open the hood and cover the trambler with rags so that it does not stall.

He warned that it is absolutely necessary to have a cable with you so that someone can pull it out, writes "Moscow 24".

In turn, Vice-president of the National Automobile Union (NAS) Jan Haitser spoke about the consequences of flooding the car. The expert noted that, first of all, the risk of a water hammer increases, which will disable the engine, RT reports.

According to the expert, the electronic components of the car are also at risk.

The Metropolitan Complex of Urban Economy reported on July 15 that the monthly precipitation rate fell in some areas of Moscow in less than two hours, the Moscow City News agency reports. It is specified that the largest amount of precipitation was recorded in the Northern Administrative District (SAO) — up to 85 mm, as well as in the Eastern Administrative District (VAO) — up to 75 mm. 360.ru .
