Gravity toilets will completely disappear on Russian Railways trains in a few years.

In a few years, Russian Railways (RZD) trains will completely lose cars with gravity toilets and the concept of a "sanitary zone" will disappear. This was announced on July 15 by Deputy General Director of Russian Railways Ivan Kolesnikov.

"We understand that over the next few years we will finally close the issue of running wagons with such equipment. If we have to use these wagons, then these are some kind of one-time transportation, including, if necessary, backup transportation," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
