The city of Yelabuga in the Republic of Tatarstan has banned the rental of personal mobility equipment (SIM), including electric scooters. This was announced on Tuesday, July 15, by the Tatarstan 24 TV channel.

"Yelabuga's infrastructure is not yet ready for this type of transport: there are no bike paths, special lanes and the necessary markings with road signs," the article says.

At the same time, one of the local entrepreneurs ignored the decision and did not remove the electric scooters. As a result of the inspection, the transport was sent to the parking lot. The authorities clarified that similar measures will be applied to any new attempts at unauthorized placement of rental points.

The day before, a complete ban on the rental and use of electric scooters and other SIM cards was introduced in Blagoveshchensk. It was clarified that now a fine of up to 100 thousand rubles will be imposed for any movement or placement of sims on the territory of Blagoveshchensk for each violation.
