The United States will impose sanctions against Russia if no agreement is reached in 50 days to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. This was announced on Tuesday, July 15, by the American leader Donald Trump.

"If we don't make a deal by the end of 50 days, everything will be very bad," Trump said, answering questions from reporters on the South Lawn of the White House.

The American leader also stressed that if he had been in power, and not his predecessor Joe Biden, the conflict in Ukraine would not have happened.

On July 14, Trump announced that the United States would impose 100% secondary duties on Russia if a settlement of the Ukrainian conflict was not reached within 50 days. He also stated that he supports the congressional initiative on sanctions against Russia, but "does not yet know whether it will be necessary."
