German Chancellor Friedrich Merz may be secretly preparing to supply Taurus cruise missiles to the Ukrainian side. This was announced on Tuesday, July 14, by the leader of the German party Sarah Wagenknecht's Union for Reason and Justice (SSV) Sarah Wagenknecht.

In her opinion, the delivery of the Taurus could draw Germany into a conflict with Russia. She believes that Germans should consider whether they want to wake up one day and find out that the country is involved in a confrontation with the Russian Federation.

"Merz no longer wants to talk publicly about what weapons he supplies to Ukraine," Wagenknecht added.

She also noted that it is impossible to use such complex systems as Taurus without the participation of Bundeswehr soldiers. The politician stressed that even if Merz declares that the German military will not be in Ukraine, they are still needed to plan operations.

"If German missiles programmed by Bundeswehr soldiers hit Moscow, it means we will be at war with Russia. The Kremlin has made this clear. I don't know if Merz wants to realize that. Or does he not care? I think it's terrible. And this man really poses a danger to Germany," Wagenknecht added.

On July 1, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced that he had discussed with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky the possible training of the Ukrainian military in handling Taurus cruise missiles. However, on July 14, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that the German authorities refused to supply long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine, although they had received a request from Kiev.
