Changan company will start supplying cars to Russia from Kazakhstan, where the production of cars of the brand will begin at the multi-brand plant AMMKZ (Astana Motors Manufacturing Kazakhstan). This was reported on July 15 by the Telegram channel "Chinese Cars" with reference to the brand's press service.

The representative of the brand shared that the opening of the plant will take place in August. A wide range of models is promised. The representative office of the brand did not specify other details.

Prior to this, the Auto Mail portal, citing sources close to the AMMKZ plant, reported that the first Changan car to be delivered to Russia from the Alma Ata plant should be the CS55 Plus crossover. Its launch on the Russian market is scheduled to take place in late autumn 2025. Cars from Kazakhstan will be exported with the payment of a recycling fee.

In June, representatives of the Astana-Motors company said that initially, the plant planned to produce nine models using a small-scale method with welding and painting. The design capacity of the enterprise is 90 thousand cars per year. It is possible to expand the range to 12 models.

At the first stage, it is planned to produce the Tiggo 2 Pro, Haval Jolion, Tank 300 and Changan CS55 Plus in a small-scale way. These should include the Haval M6, H9 and H5, as well as the Chery Tiggo 4 (including the Pro, Plus and Sport versions).

Earlier in the day, it was reported that GAC intends to bring its subsidiary brand Aion to the Russian market. It was unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show in 2018. The brand's first model, the Aion S sedan, entered the Chinese market in 2019. Currently, the line in the home market includes seven models — sedans, hatchbacks and crossovers.
