10 Chinese alternatives to Lada Vesta in Russia are listed
In addition to Lada Granta and Vesta, which are leaders in the Russian sedan market, a number of other foreign models are officially on sale at prices below 2 million rubles. This was reported to Rossiyskaya Gazeta on July 15 by experts from Gazprombank Avtolizing, who listed such cars.
The most affordable foreign sedan is the Changan Alsvin, which costs from 1.35 million rubles, which is significantly cheaper than a year ago (1.6 million rubles). During the first half of the year, 1.1 thousand such machines were sold in the Russian Federation, 70% less than in the same period in 2024. Almost half of sales to the sedan are provided by corporate transactions, experts noted.
The BAIC U5 Plus, assembled at Avtotor, costs from 1.4 million rubles. From January to June, its sales amounted to 1.5 thousand units (-59%). The Kaiyi E5 from the same assembly plant will cost at least 1.6 million rubles (1.3 thousand cars sold; -51%).
Next in the ranking are the Livan S6 Pro (1.65 million rubles; 189 units; +85%) and Solaris KRS for 1.75 million rubles, which technically repeats the Kia Rio X. It is called the most popular foreign sedan on the Russian market in 2025 (2.5 thousand transactions; an increase of 15 times). The related Solaris HS is 200 thousand rubles more expensive (-23%; 2.4 thousand transactions).
The rating also includes four more models for 1.8-1.9 million rubles: Geely Emgrand (2.3 thousand transactions), Omoda S5 (2.2 thousand), Changan Eado (0.5 thousand) and MG5 (118 units). All of them experienced a drop in sales from 30 to 70%.
According to the results of the first half of 2025, sedans of foreign brands priced up to 2 million rubles accounted for 14.1 thousand transactions in Russia, which is half as much as a year ago. And the total number of foreign cars sold with this type of body reached 29.1 thousand units (-44%), experts estimated.
On July 8, it was reported that there were practically no new hatchback models left on the Russian car market. Thus, in the first half of 2025, 66% fewer hatchbacks (11 thousand units) were registered than in January –June 2024. The market share of this segment has decreased to 2%.
