The landscaping of Volgogradsky Prospekt in Moscow is scheduled to be completed in the fall. Now they have been completed by 38%, said Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

According to him, work is underway on a site with a total length of 12.5 km — from the Garden Ring to the MKAD. The landscaping project also includes Marxist Street.

"The territory will become even more comfortable for residents, while maintaining the transport function of the highway," Sobyanin said, adding that due to the renovation of the infrastructure, the speed of urban transport will be increased by 20%.

Specialists will replace the pavement of sidewalks and roads, and overhead cable lines will be removed underground. Modern pavilions will be built instead of outdated bus stops, new benches and energy-efficient lanterns will be installed. Green islands with decorative compositions of coniferous plants will be built on specific sections of the highway.

This year, specialists are improving about 700 streets. Among them there are outbound highways: Trade Union Street and 60th Anniversary of October Avenue, as well as Shchelkovskoye Highway, Krasnoprudnaya and Bolshaya Cherkizovskaya streets.
