In a conversation with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, US President Donald Trump did not call for strikes on Moscow and St. Petersburg, contrary to the Financial Times newspaper's statement. This was announced on Tuesday, July 15, by White House press Secretary Caroline Leavitt.

"The Financial Times is notorious for widely taking words out of context to increase viewership as their newspaper is dying. President Trump was just asking a question, not encouraging further killings," Leavitt said in a statement obtained by Fox News.

The statement also said that Trump is "working tirelessly" to end the conflict in Ukraine.

On the same day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that Trump's statements about a new plan to supply American weapons to Ukraine were a signal to Kiev to continue the conflict. He added that these statements require analysis, after which Russian President Vladimir Putin will comment on them if he deems it necessary.
