The Russian government will allocate 765 billion rubles over six years for the construction of domestic aircraft. This was announced on July 15 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at the strategic session "Development of the Aviation Industry".

"In order to ensure the independence of Russian civil aviation, a specialized federal project "Aircraft and Helicopter Production" has been formed. He became a part of the national technological leadership project "Industrial provision of transport mobility <...>. It is planned to allocate a total of 765 billion rubles from the federal budget for its implementation over six years," Mishustin said.

According to him, Russia has all the necessary resources for a fundamental breakthrough in the aircraft industry. In addition, the Prime Minister stressed that the growth of passenger traffic is a top priority for the domestic aviation industry.

"Our country has sufficient technological potential and all the resources to make a fundamental breakthrough in the field of aircraft construction and provide our citizens with guaranteed opportunities for comfortable flights," the head of government added.

On March 14, Mishustin said that Russian aircraft should provide passengers with a safe flight, as well as be in demand in the world. He noted that it is also necessary to focus on the reliability and quality of equipment so that these aircraft can be in demand not only in Russia.
