The Verkhovna Rada has extended the mobilization and martial law in Ukraine
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted to extend martial law and mobilization until November 5. This was announced on July 15 by Yaroslav Zheleznyak, a member of the Ukrainian parliament.
"The Rada has approved the extension of martial law and general mobilization for the 16th time," Zheleznyak wrote on his Telegram channel.
The law will come into force on August 7 and will last 90 days until November 5.
320 deputies voted "For", only one spoke "against". Zheleznyak clarifies that it was Alexey Goncharenko (listed as a terrorist and extremist by Rosfinmonitoring).
Goncharenko confirmed in his Telegram channel that he voted against.
"As promised, I will not vote for the extension of mobilization until clear terms of service are adopted," he wrote.
Earlier, on July 14, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that the European Union (EU) does not pay attention to the harsh repression taking place in Ukraine. According to him, "people are being hunted on the territory of the state."
