A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. Units of the Southern Group of Forces liberated the Petrovka settlement in the DPR. As a result of the actions of the servicemen, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost up to 125 militants, two vehicles, two field artillery guns, an electronic warfare station and an ammunition depot.

In addition, the Vostok group of troops liberated Voskresenka in the DPR and eliminated up to 185 Ukrainian militants, ten vehicles and four field artillery guns.

"Units of the Zapad group of forces improved their position along the front line, defeated formations of three mechanized brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and two air defense brigades in the areas of Borovskoye, Boguslavka, Petrovka, Kupyansk, Kharkiv region, and Torskoye, Donetsk People's Republic," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, also defeated the infrastructure of military airfields, drone assembly and storage sites, ammunition depots, temporary deployment points of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and foreign mercenaries in 142 districts.

Air defense systems, in turn, destroyed seven guided aerial bombs, a US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launcher and 103 aircraft-type drones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 663 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 69,593 UAVs, 618 anti-aircraft missile systems, 24,220 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,577 multiple rocket launchers, 27,394 field artillery and mortars, 38,192 pieces of special vehicles.
