Chernyshenko named the total cost of sports in the Russian Federation
Sports costs in Russia currently amount to about 700 billion rubles. This was announced on July 15 by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko at a meeting of the interdepartmental commission for the development of physical culture and sports among people with disabilities resulting from their own and other armed conflicts.
"The total cost of sports in the country today, the state program is designed to combine and administer all these costs, about 700 billion rubles," he said during the meeting.
According to Chernyshenko, the Ministry of Sports has started implementing a comprehensive state program in the field of sports. It is specified that within its framework, at least 350 sports facilities will be built annually on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Ministry of Transport also intends to strengthen support for children's sections and coaches, and the infrastructure of mass adaptive sports will be developed.
In March, Izvestia reviewed VTB's data on the peak values of Russians' spending on sporting goods and sportswear for 2024. According to the data, in December last year, compared with January of this year, the increase was almost twofold — the average check for these categories reaches 3.4 thousand rubles.
