Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg has announced that the social media giant will spend hundreds of billions of dollars to build huge AI data centers in the United States.

The first multi-gigawatt data center, named Prometheus, is expected to be operational in 2026. It will be built in Ohio. According to Zuckerberg, one of the clusters will occupy an area almost equal to the area of Manhattan.

After the announcement of this news, Meta shares rose by 1%.

Earlier, on June 30, Bloomberg reported that Mark Zuckerberg, one of the founders of Meta Corporation, announced the creation of the Meta Superintelligence Labs (MSL) division. It is specified that it will be engaged in the development of artificial "superintelligence".
