The number of traffic violations recorded by cameras has been calculated in the regions

In Moscow, road photo- and video-recording complexes record 65 types of traffic violations. This figure turned out to be almost twice as high as in a number of other regions of the country, according to an infographic published by Kommersant on July 15.

So, in the Irkutsk region, cameras record 34 types of violations, and in the Moscow region — 30. The Khabarovsk Territory (20), Yakutia (18), Ulyanovsk (17), as well as Tyumen, Voronezh and Sverdlovsk regions (15 each) are next in the ranking.

Next are Udmurtia and the Tambov Region (13 each), Mari El (12), St. Petersburg (11), Kursk and Yaroslavl Regions, as well as the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (10 each). In other regions, the number of violations recorded by cameras in the sample does not exceed nine.

According to the publication, the number of traffic cameras in Russia continued to increase in 2025, but the growth is uneven. While in some regions the number of cameras has increased by one and a half to two times since the beginning of the year, in others it has remained the same.

In some areas, equipment is decommissioned due to obsolescence, wear and tear, and long service life, while in others, devices are not launched due to non-compliance with legal requirements. In the capital, for example, the number of cameras has not changed in six months, but 450 devices have been replaced with new ones.

On June 11, it was reported that on the M-11 Neva toll highway in the Tver region, emergency commissars' cars were equipped with camera complexes with the ability to record traffic violations, including speeding. The complexes were installed on the machines in a test mode. In the future, they are planned to be placed on commissars' cars on the Central Ring Road and the M-12 Vostok.
