The number of people poisoned at a banquet in Yekaterinburg has grown to 21
The number of students poisoned at the graduation of a university in Yekaterinburg has increased to 21 people. This was announced on July 15 by the Department of Rospotrebnadzor in the Sverdlovsk region.
"21 cases of acute intestinal infection have been registered among university graduates. Currently, the laboratory diagnosis of salmonellosis has been confirmed in seven people," the department's Telegram channel said.
Rospotrebnadzor reported that numerous violations were found in the cafe where the graduates were poisoned: there is no labeling on the equipment, product storage conditions are not observed, and employees do not have medical records. It is noted that one of the employees of the institution was found to have salmonellosis.
According to the department, the activities of Richmond Rest LLC, which owns the cafe, have been discontinued, and the premises have been sealed. Materials have been prepared for referral to the court.
Earlier that day, the Ministry of Health of the Sverdlovsk Region reported that 12 people had been hospitalized in Yekaterinburg after being poisoned at a local Versailles cafe. It was noted that according to the results of the tests, salmonellosis was confirmed in the laboratory. Later, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on the fact of mass poisoning.
