12 people accused of organizing illegal migration and committing corruption crimes will appear in court in the Moscow region. This was announced on July 15 by the press service of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region.

"It was established that in the period from 2022 to 2024, a resident of Balashikha headed an interethnic organized group of ten people specializing in organizing illegal migration of foreign citizens," the department said.

It is noted that the organizational group consisted of her husband, daughter, and minor son, who worked for the Bureau of Migration Services, the head of the territorial migration center, representatives of the International Center for Language Testing and Educational Training of RUDN University Migrants, and others.

According to the investigation, the attackers made a fictitious delivery for migration registration of over 500 foreign citizens in residential buildings in Reutov and Balashikha for a monetary reward. In fact, they did not live there. In addition, the participants in the crime provided fictitious certificates to foreigners about their alleged proficiency in the Russian language, knowledge of history, basic legislation of the Russian Federation and other necessary documents for the legalization of persons in Russia. The fictitious registration for a monetary reward was carried out by two employees of the Migration Department.

As part of the investigation, over 100 witnesses were identified and questioned, including foreign citizens who do not speak Russian, and more than 20 searches were organized in residential and office spaces. The volume of the criminal case reached over 500 volumes.

A criminal case has been opened into illegal migration, corruption crimes, and the involvement of a minor in the commission of a serious crime.

Earlier, on July 4, it was reported that a resident of Kamchatka illegally registered over 70 foreign citizens. It is specified that he submitted documents to the migration department and the multifunctional center, but he did not have the opportunity to provide a place to stay. A case was opened on this fact under Article 322 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fictitious registration of a foreign citizen or a stateless person at the place of residence in the Russian Federation").
