The Investigative Committee has completed the investigation of the criminal case of the car bombing in Berdyansk

The investigation of the criminal case of the car bombing in Berdyansk has been completed in the Zaporozhye region. This was announced on July 15 by the official representative of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia Svetlana Petrenko.

She noted that the defendants, an ex—employee of the Prosecutor's office of Ukraine and his acquaintance, depending on the role of each, are charged under Part 2 of Article 205.4 ("Organization of a terrorist community and participation in it"), Part 4 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation, shipment or carrying explosives or explosive devices").

According to Petrenko, they are also charged with Part 3 of Article 223.1 ("Illegal manufacture of explosives, illegal manufacture, alteration or repair of explosive devices"), Article 205.3 ("Undergoing training in order to carry out terrorist activities") and paragraphs "a", "b" of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist the act").

"The investigator has collected sufficient evidence, and therefore the criminal case has been sent to the supervisory authority for approval of the indictment and subsequent transfer to the court," the official representative of the Investigative Committee of Russia emphasized.

According to the investigation, two residents of Berdyansk received a task from the Ukrainian special services to commit a terrorist attack against a local candidate for the post of judge. They independently made an explosive device and placed it under the victim's car. As a result of the terrorist attack, the car was damaged, there was no one in the cabin at that time.

The arrest of the first defendant in the bombing case was reported on November 7, 2024. Prior to the entry of the Zaporizhia region into Russia, he served in the Ukrainian prosecutor's office. In February, the second person involved was detained.
