Peskov: Germany is becoming dangerous again
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on July 14 that Germany was becoming dangerous again amid statements by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius about the country's retaliatory actions and readiness to "kill Russian soldiers" in the event of a Russian attack on a NATO member state.
"Germany is becoming dangerous again," he said in an interview with RBC.
At the same time, Peskov clarified that it was difficult for him to believe such statements from the German minister, but added that "alas, this is so."
Earlier in the day, Pistorius told the Financial Times newspaper that German troops would be ready to "kill Russian soldiers" if the Russian side attacked a NATO member state.
At the same time, former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl said that such words by the German Defense Minister about his readiness to "kill Russian soldiers" were reminiscent of the early 1940s, and his vocabulary had previously been used by Nazi German Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels.
