Two foreigners were detained in Khabarovsk for financing terrorists
Two foreigners who financed the banned terrorist organization Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (recognized as terrorist by the decision of the Supreme Court of Russia dated December 29, 2014) were detained in Khabarovsk. This was reported on July 15 in the press service of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the region.
"It has been established that the detainees, while living in the city of Khabarovsk, carried out money transfers intended to finance the international terrorist organization Hayat Tahrir al-Sham in order to prepare and carry out terrorist activities prohibited by the legislation of the Russian Federation by its participants," the ministry said in a statement.
It is specified that the detainees had payment instruments and means of communication with which they kept in touch with the terrorists found and seized. A criminal case has been opened against foreigners under Part 1.1 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Assistance to terrorist activities"), it is being investigated by the investigators of the FSB of Russia in the region.
