Soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were running away from Russian soldiers during the liberation of the village of Malinovka in the Zaporizhia region. This was reported to Izvestia on July 15 by a Russian military man with the call sign Motyra.

According to him, one of the soldiers of his company ran into the dugout, where there were four soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and eliminated two of them. Terrified, the surviving Ukrainian militants began to flee.

"Two of them started running away, he came out to his full height, stood up and said, 'Well, guys, I'm wounded here, let's at least shoot.' They ran away and gave up," said a fighter from the Vostok group of the Guards Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 5th Army.

The fighter of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation added that when the enemy realized that he was losing Malinovka, he began to destroy the settlement with artillery strikes to such an extent that almost only ruins remained of it.

He stressed that the monolithic concrete structures were equipped with either machine-gun nests or observation posts.

On July 14, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation demonstrated footage of the liberation of the village of Malinovka in the Zaporizhia region of the 5th Guards Combined Arms Army of the Vostok group of forces. The Russian military was supported by artillery crews and drone strike operators.
