At least 23 people were injured in a massive truck accident in Almaty
In Almaty, Kazakhstan, 23 people were injured in a major road accident involving a truck, three cars and a passenger bus. This was reported on July 14 by the Kazinform agency with reference to the press service of the country's police department.
"The driver of a MAZ truck <...> lost control, collided with Mercedes and Kia vehicles, <...>. Then he drove into oncoming traffic, where he collided with a Yutong bus and a Subaru car. As a result of the accident, 23 people were injured," the publication says.
It is specified that the number of victims of this incident included passengers of the bus and the driver driving a Kia. It is also noted that a pre-trial investigation was launched into the incident.
On the same day, the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug — Yugra reported a collision between a passenger car and a Yutong bus, which resulted in the death of a man. According to preliminary data, the 33-year-old Skoda Rapid driver lost control and drove into oncoming traffic, where he collided with a bus. The accident occurred on the 48th km of the federal highway R-404 Yugra.
