The start of regular direct flights between Russia and the DPRK is scheduled for July 27. This was announced on July 14 by the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation.

"The first flight from Moscow to [Pyongyang] is scheduled for July 27, the journey time will be about eight hours," the agency said in a Telegram channel message.

It is specified that in the future, flights will be operated once a month to generate steady demand and load flights. At the same time, permission to operate these scheduled flights was previously granted by the Federal Air Transport Agency to the domestic company Nordwind (Nordwind airlines).

On July 12, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced that Russia and North Korea plan to resume maritime communication. He made the corresponding statement following a press conference in Wonsan with North Korean Foreign Minister Choi Song-hee.
