US President Donald Trump has expressed his intention to sell weapons to NATO allies worth about $ 10 billion. This was reported on July 14 by the Axios portal, citing sources.

"During the first wave, the United States will sell about $10 billion worth of weapons to its NATO allies. The final volume of supplies for Ukraine includes missiles, air defense systems and artillery shells," the article says.

Although Trump did not provide details about the weapons systems that will be part of the scheme, he did mention missiles. Two sources told Axios that the plan would include long-range missiles that could strike deep into Russia.

It is noted that this is a serious political shift on the part of Trump, who initially refused to side with Ukraine and, until very recently, insisted that he would only supply defensive weapons in order not to escalate the conflict.

Earlier in the day, Trump announced the EU's agreement to pay for weapons supplied from the United States to Ukraine. The United States and the European Union have reached an agreement on the supply of weapons. This was announced by Trump at a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. Trump stressed that weapons for Ukraine would be produced by the United States, but would be paid for by European countries.
