The situation with bed bugs in France continues to deteriorate, despite the assurances of the country's authorities. This was reported on July 14 by the BFMTV channel.

"This little brown insect continues to spread unnoticed across France. <...> Experts <...> warn of a very high incidence, as there is intense population mixing in summer," the article says.

According to Stefan Bra, a representative of the Association of Health and Environmental Specialists, bedbugs have not disappeared anywhere and there are no reasons for their disappearance, and experts point to an undeniable deterioration of the situation.

"This problem exists and will always be fundamental, requiring a solution. Even if the media made a fuss about it in 2023, it is important to understand that this topic has been tormenting for 15 years," said Pascal Delaunay, a parasitologist and entomologist at the University Hospital of Nice.

Earlier, on March 7, it was reported that visits to prisoners in a British prison were suspended due to bedbugs. It is specified that they were able to identify the infestation of the prison with insects after a woman who visited her partner found bite marks on her daughter. Later, this information was passed on to the administration of the institution, which found bite marks on the prisoners.
