In Pskov, as part of the reconstruction of the Trinity Cathedral, the dismantling of old plaster from the facades continues. The ANO "Revival of cultural Heritage sites in Pskov (Pskov region)" reports this in its Telegram channel.

According to Alexey Gamzin, the chief engineer of the organization, masonry walls are gradually opening up to specialists. In the past, cement was applied to them in order to "lock up the water," which caused the masonry to stop breathing.

"Cement is the mistakes of the restoration of previous years, when we blocked the water. And the destruction of the stone began due to the fact that the masonry was not breathing. We are going to deal with this problem now," said Alexey Gamzin.

In general, the restoration work is carried out in accordance with the schedule. They are carried out by contractors from Moscow commissioned by the Autonomous Non-Governmental Organization "Revival of Cultural Heritage sites of Pskov (Pskov region)".

According to the Pskov news feed, the Trinity Cathedral was built in the 17th century. The last restoration work was carried out in the late 1980s. The current restoration is scheduled to be completed in 2027.
