The lawyer of Moldovan MP Marina Tauber accused the court of bias.
The lawyer of the deputy of the Moldovan parliament Marina Tauber, Sergey Moraru, accused the court of bias and expressed the opinion that his client would be found guilty in the case of violations in the financing of the party and the election campaign.
"From the very beginning, their goal was to bring a guilty verdict as soon as possible. There is no doubt that the court will pass a guilty verdict, as the judge refuses to accept any evidence of the defense, refuses to examine, does not accept any documents," Moraru said, quoted by TASS.
According to the lawyer, the court listens only to the prosecution, not listening to the defense. Moraru stressed that he would seek Tauber's acquittal on all charges.
On July 11, Moldovan prosecutors requested 13 years in prison for Tauber in the case of party financing. It is clarified that the prosecution also demanded that the Moldovan opposition MP be put on the wanted list, deprived of her rights to hold public office for a period of five years and 206 million lei ($12 million) be confiscated.
Later, on July 14, member of the Moldovan Parliament Vasily Bolya said that the case against Tauber was a political reprisal against the entire opposition.
