The writer Dmitry Bykov (listed as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation) was put on the federal wanted list under an article of the Criminal Code of Russia. This follows from the updated search database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation on July 14.

"Dmitry Lvovich Bykov. He is wanted under the article of the Criminal Code," the agency said in a statement.

At the same time, it is not specified what article the person involved is being sought for.

At the end of April, the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case against Bykov. According to the investigation, the writer is suspected of publicly spreading deliberately false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (paragraph "d" of part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code) and evading duties provided for by legislation on foreign agents (part 2 of Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code).
