The prosecution requested 18 years for writer Boris Akunin for justifying terrorism
The prosecution requested 18 years in absentia for the writer Boris Akunin (recognized as a foreign agent in the RV) for justifying terrorism. The Second Western District Military Court informed Izvestia about this on July 15.
A criminal case was opened against Akunin for publicly justifying terrorism and spreading deliberately false information about the Russian Armed Forces in December 2023. In the following months, the Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested him in absentia. The writer was put on the international wanted list and entered into the register of foreign agents.
